CPM Calculator
Calculate Cost Per Mille (CPM), total ad spend, or total impressions from any two inputs. Three calculation modes with 2026 platform benchmarks for Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, and 6 more.
Start CalculatingCPM = (Total Ad Spend ÷ Impressions) × 1,000
Example: $500 spend, 100,000 impressions → CPM = ($500 ÷ 100,000) × 1,000 = $5.00 CPM
Reverse: Impressions = (Spend ÷ CPM) × 1,000 | Spend = (CPM × Impressions) ÷ 1,000
CPM (Cost Per Mille) is the standard pricing model for display, social media, and video advertising. Advertisers pay a fixed rate for every 1,000 times their ad is shown — regardless of whether anyone clicks. CPM campaigns are used for brand awareness, reach maximisation, and top-of-funnel demand generation.
CPM bidding is available on every major platform: Google Display, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter/X, Pinterest, YouTube, and programmatic networks.
1. Select what you want to calculate: CPM, Total Spend, or Impressions. 2. Enter the two values you already know. 3. Click Calculate — your result appears instantly with a benchmark comparison.
Example (Impressions mode): $2,000 budget at $9.50 TikTok CPM → ($2,000 ÷ $9.50) × 1,000 = 210,526 impressions.

CPM Calculator — FAQ
What does CPM mean?
CPM stands for Cost Per Mille — "mille" is Latin for thousand. CPM is the cost to show your ad 1,000 times. It's the standard unit for measuring the price of display, video, and social media advertising inventory.
How do you calculate CPM?
CPM = (Total Ad Spend ÷ Total Impressions) × 1,000. Example: $500 spent, 100,000 impressions → ($500 ÷ 100,000) × 1,000 = $5.00 CPM. This means you paid $5 for every 1,000 times your ad was shown.
What is a good CPM?
A good CPM depends heavily on the platform and audience. Google Display averages $2–$5 CPM, Facebook $7–$11, LinkedIn $30–$45. Lower CPM is better for pure reach, but a high CPM on a targeted platform (like LinkedIn for B2B) often delivers better ROI than cheap display inventory.
What is the difference between CPM and CPC?
CPM (Cost Per Mille) is charged per 1,000 impressions regardless of clicks. CPC (Cost Per Click) is charged only when someone clicks. CPM campaigns optimise for reach and awareness; CPC campaigns optimise for traffic and conversions. Social platforms let you choose between both bidding models.
How many impressions does my budget get?
Impressions = (Ad Spend ÷ CPM) × 1,000. Example: $1,000 budget at $8.50 CPM → ($1,000 ÷ $8.50) × 1,000 = 117,647 impressions. Use the calculator above and select "Impressions from budget" mode.
What is CPM vs eCPM?
CPM is the rate you pay upfront. eCPM (effective CPM) is the actual rate calculated after a campaign runs — useful for comparing campaigns with different buying models. eCPM = (Total Revenue ÷ Total Impressions) × 1,000. Publishers use eCPM to measure ad revenue efficiency.
